I’m pretty sure most of us have a story to tell about our adventures in emergency medicine. One person who has gone a step further and published all of them into a book is Doctor Tony Bleetman , a doctor on the UK HEMS system and his book “You can’t park it there”. Tony has been a HEMS doctor and part of the inception of a few fledgling air ambulance services’ over the years and he writes about some of the humorous situations he has found himself in.
Besides talking about how to go about publishing a book, I managed to get his insight into crew resource management and how it is becoming a part of the everyday HEMS system. In this podcast we discuss the importance of a good handover on scene and how the ground paramedic can best integrate into the HEMS team at the site of a medical or trauma emergency.
